How it all started...
Founded in Salem, CT in 1951, Colchester Assembly of God eventually moved its namesake: to the town of Colchester. After 40 some-odd years, in 2006 the name changed to Abundant Life and a beautiful new building was built on 16 acres. Abundant Life Church has always been about building people. We firmly hold to the priesthood of the believers where everyone has a ministry. Come join us and find your place.
Expanding the vision...
We have developed the Church Vision Statement:
G: Gather
O: Outreach
D: Disciple
Our purpose is to build His church to reach a lost world for Christ.

Church Values...
1. We make Scripture rather than church tradition the final authority. We seek to be creative and flexible in our ministry, as long as it does not violate Scripture.
2. Christ came to seek and to save the lost, and so we, His church, must make this our Great Commission.
3. We understand our primary purpose in life is to glorify God. We do this in our lives, but praise is a critical aspect. We seek to build a worship service that is culturally relevant and pleasing to the heart of God.
4. We believe God loves all people, and His church must be a welcome place where all are accepted based on God.
5. We believe Christian growth, life-change, and pastoral care occurs best in small groups. We consider it vital that every Christian participates in a small group.
6. Recognizing the Great Commission tells us to make disciples, we strive to train all age groups in the ways of the Lord. We accomplish through the various ministries of the church. Our relationships, time, talents, and money are gifts from God, so we challenge and train people to be stewards of each.
7. Spiritual leadership is vital to the on-going growth of a church. It is our purpose to raise-up leaders. We help disciples discover both their gifts and ministries.
